The EPI’s coaching approach follows an method where the coaches are offering support as if they are “in-the-boots-of-entrepreneurs” & where information gathering forms a pivotal part of action research, that allows for ongoing framing & re-framing of the solutions & opportunities coachees are introduced to. It is known as the ARC programme — representing the emphasis on Action Research Coaching.
The EPI’s intensive coaching aims to help entrepreneurs overcome challenges & grow their businesses. The coaching approach is embedded in the EPI’s emphasis on Entrepreneurs Supporting Entrepreneurs (ESEs), which means that our coaches are able to approach their support from a lived experience as entrepreneurs themselves or as professional coaches who are able to reflect compassionate “in-the-boots-of-entrepreneurs” support.
The EPI’s coaches have completed an ARC Framing Course to ensure consistency in the support offered across programmes.
The ARC Coaching Programme is based on the following:
- Action research is included as a key component of all coaching programs – thus the name Action Research Coaching;
- Collection of information during the coaching process is used for ongoing feedback to entrepreneurs & monitoring of progress & impact thus allowing for details ME reporting;
- Entrepreneurs are met where they are at, which requires a level of flexibility in responding to the individual situation & addressing fundamental that may be lacking in the business approach adopted by the entrepreneur;
- A clearly defined framework is used (see the graphic for an example of Digital Transformation Programme) to ensure that coaching is directed at creating impact – setting & implementing SMART goals for a specific intervention, & are linked to the overall business model & vision.
- The action research approach includes Reflection Sessions of coaches where they are able to address challenging situations & refine their approach to increase the impact of their support to the participating entrepreneurs.
